Amid decades old sexual assault accusations from multiple women against actor and comedian Bill Cosby, the Navy has decided to revoke the honorary rank of chief petty officer it bestowed upon him in 2011.

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Michael Stevens announced the decision today, citing that the allegations facing Cosby are serious and conflict with the core values of the Navy.

Cosby did serve in the Navy, enlisting in 1956 and serving four years. He was honorably discharged in 1960 as a petty officer 3rd class.
