Over the weekend, six servicemen were honored at ISAF headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan after being wounded in combat, thanks to a privately funded organization called Operation Proper Exit. This organization helps wounded veterans return to Iraq and Afghanistan, giving them a “a sense of healing.”

“Last time they were over here our wounded warriors left on stretchers. This trip here kind of gives them closure,” said Command Sgt. Major Thomas Roy Capel, who helped to arrange the trip. “They will leave Afghanistan of their own accord.”
