# Don’t Steal A Moped In Front of Tom Hardy

[The internet is abuzz](<https://jezebel.com/tom-hardy-is-a-one-man-neighborhood-watch-1794625376>) amid news that actor Tom Hardy chased down and apprehended a thief who stole a moped in London on April 24.

Hardy — known for his role as Twombly in “Black Hawk Down,” and who will have starring roles in “Dunkirk” and Navy SEAL TV series “War Party” — was apparently walking around the South London neighborhood of Richmond when two young men on the stolen moped ran a red light and crashed. One fled, and Hardy went after them.

“The Legend, Batman and Taboo star vaulted walls as he sprinted after the crook — then grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and patted him down for concealed weapons,”[the Sun reports](<https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3405353/tom-hardy-arrests-moped-thief-after-dramatic-hollywood-style-chase-through-streets-and-witnesses-say-he-went-into-superhero-mode/>).

Can you imagine being a dumb punk and seeing the guy who played Bane bearing down on you? I’d give up my life of crime immediately.

A witness told the Sun, “It was mental – like he’d switched to superhero mode in an action movie. Two boys on the nicked moped had jumped a red light and smashed into a car.”

When Hardy caught the crook, he reportedly “grabbed him by the scruff of the neck” and patted him down and searched him for weapons.

After justice was served, Hardy[was heard boasting](<https://jezebel.com/tom-hardy-is-a-one-man-neighborhood-watch-1794625376>), “I caught the cock,” because that’s exactly what a badass British action hero would say in that scenario.
