As military veterans continue to leave active duty, many will be faced with the sobering, and at times, frightening question, “What next?” Some veterans continue in the same career field they held while in the military, building on past experience. Others, like Marine veterans Anu Bhagwati and Nick Taranto, may choose a new path, pursuing it aggressively with the self discipline and grit they gained from military service.
While in the Marine Corps, Bhagwati discovered yoga, but it wasn’t until she left the service that she found her calling in it --- founding Yoga for Vets at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York. For Taranto, after he left active duty and went to work on Wall Street, the long hours and lack of downtime began to take its toll --- with the final straw being no time to eat a decent meal. It was then that he co-founded Plated, a fresh ingredient and recipe delivery service for healthy meals.
