The Army’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) kicks off their 2017 Digital Photography Contest Friday, December 1. The competition is open to MWR patrons, and submissions will be accepted until January 31, 2018.
Participants will be divided into an active duty military division and other eligible participants division, which includes family members, retirees, civilians, and contractors. The contest features seven categories within each division: Animals, Design Elements, Digital Darkroom, Military Life, Nature and Landscapes, People, and Still Life. The rules allow three photos submitted per category, per participant.
To enter, participants must use an online profile and identify their sponsoring garrison. If selected to move forward at the garrison level, judges will select first, second, and third places and honorable mentions for each division and category. First place winners will receive a $300 award, second place a $200 award, and third place a $100 award.
