7 things you will miss about Target when you are stationed overseas

By Julie Provost

Being stationed overseas means experiencing life in another country, taking your children places you could never have imagined, and making lifelong memories. Still. . . when you are overseas, you are bound to miss some of the parts of American life you just don’t have in your temporary country. And yes, I’m talking about Target.

Here are seven things you will miss about this popular store when you are stationed overseas:

1. Amazing deals

Whether it is a desk marked 75 percent off or Easter candy on deep discount, Target has fantastic deals. While you are overseas, you will hear about these amazing deals from friends in the states. . . and become insanely jealous that you no longer have access to them.

2. The Cartwheel App

Cartwheel saves you money every time you visit Target. The good news is, if you do have access to the Exchange, you might be able to find different deals there, even overseas.

3. The Dollar Spot

From cute papers and folders to fun toys for kids, the Dollar Spot has everything. Soothe your homesickness by seeing if there are any dollar stores where you are stationed. . . you might be surprised what you can find.

4. Starbucks and shopping

There is nothing like walking around Target with a cup of your favorite coffee in your hand. You will miss the in-store Starbucks, but don’t let being overseas stop you from trying out some of the local coffee shops. You will be glad you did.

5. Cute clothes

Target is known for their cute, on-trend clothing for adults and children. While overseas, you won’t have the same access; however, that doesn’t mean you have to go without cute clothes. Check out the local shops and see what you can find.

6. Black Friday shopping

If you’re a Black Friday shopper, then chances are, you’ve ransacked Target before. When you’re overseas, look at online deals to see what you can find. Sometimes you can get an amazing deal without ever having to walk into the store.

7. Just being there

Maybe Target is your happy place. And as much as you will miss this land of wonderful, try to step outside your comfort zone and discover the shops in your current country. You will miss them when you move back to the states. Trust me, I know.
