Thank you to our guest blogger, Bobbi Pack, from!

Father’s Day is a wonderful day that is filled with family and friends coming together to BBQ, play games and have some fun.  But, when daddy is deployed this holiday is hard on everyone, and due to the fact my husband has been deployed several times on Father’s Day we do our best to make it special.  We already send daddy two (2) boxes a month filled with fun and exciting things for him to put on his desk and around his small room.  For the Father’s Day box I took the kiddos to the local dollar store and gave them a each a budget of $15.  Well, $15 is a ton of money to my nine (9) year old son so he went bananas.  My twelve (12) year old daughter on the other hand knew she had to factor in tax so she was a little upset with the “tiny” budget I gave her.  But, they still found a ton of items to add to daddy’s Father’s Day box.

DSCF5244Here is what we purchased:

~ His favorite candy bars (Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups)

~ His favorite bag of chips (Frito-Lay’s Cheetos)

~ A new wallet and filled it with the kiddos photos

~ A Father’s Day card

~ His favorite late night snack (Marshmallow Treats)

~ His favorite color tissue paper (Blue)

~ Daddy stickers

~ One (1) bag for daddy’s new wallet

We thought it might be fun to wrap all of daddy’s goodies in tissue paper and create a special note with them.  My son said, “daddy can put the candy together like a puzzle and read it”.  That was a really good idea and turned out very cute, so we lined the bottom of the box with the candy “puzzle”.  It said, “I Love You Daddy To The Moon And Back”!  You do not have to spend a lot of money on your deployment Father’s Day box.  Total with shipping we spent, $45, and it was worth every penny.  If you do not have time to create a box, another awesome alternative is using Wire A Cake and send daddy a cake.  They do all the work for you and it is a really cute surprise.
