Hiring Our Heroes Welcomes MilitaryOneClick to U.S. Chamber’s MSEAC
By joining the Military Spouse Employment Advisory Council National Advisory Circle, MOC is continuing its mission to help America’s military families by connecting military spouses to meaningful job opportunities.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program welcomed today MilitaryOneClick as the newest member of its Military Spouse Employment Advisory Council (MSEAC). By joining the MSEAC National Advisory Circle, MilitaryOneClick is continuing its mission to help America’s military families by connecting military spouses to meaningful job opportunities. As part of the partnership, MilitaryOneClick will promote the Hiring Our Heroes program and its resources through its digital platforms that reach millions of people throughout the military community in more than 100 countries around the world.
“By joining the MSEAC, MilitaryOneClick is taking its commitment to serving military families to the next level,” said Eric Eversole, vice president at the U.S. Chamber and executive director of Hiring Our Heroes. “MilitaryOneClick’s partnership and input will allow Hiring Our Heroes to continue hosting free job fairs and sharing valuable resources with veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses. We look forward to working together to get these talented men and women hired.”
“As a woman owned small business and a military spouse, I am honored to be a new member of the U.S. Chamber Military Spouse Employment Advisory Council,” said Jennifer Pilcher, Founder and CEO of MilitaryOneClick. “Our ‘jobs’ section on MilitaryOneClick continues to be one of the highest hit areas on our site, proving there is still a lot of work to be done. Together, we will reduce the extremely high rate of unemployment among veterans and military spouses by connecting them with meaningful employment opportunities across the country.”
MilitaryOneClick becomes the newest member of the MSEAC, an advisory council comprised of 11 of America’s largest employers across all industries and sectors. The MSEAC is one of the first private sector-led councils formed specifically to address military spouse unemployment. The MSEAC concentrates on connecting spouses to national and local employers of every size and industry.
Hiring Our Heroes launched in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, the goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and
military families return every day. To date, Hiring Our Heroes has inspired more than 1,500 businesses of all sizes to hire 265,000 veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses. And as a direct result of more than 740 job fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, 23,000 men and women have found employment.
