Armed Forces Week is observed in the week leading up to Armed Forces Day. It is a week set aside to remember past and present service among all the military branches. At one time there were separate occasions to celebrate each of the five branches, however, that was eventually consolidated down to one day to celebrate and appreciate them together.

There are many different ways that Armed Forces Week is observed, depending on the military base. Some bases and installations have different events for each day of the week. There are often luncheons, flyovers, flag raising ceremonies, and static displays open to the public. Check with your local base for information on events in your area.

No matter how Armed Forces Week is observed in your area, take the time during this week to show appreciation to the service of military members past and present.
