The Seabee detachment that traveled up the East Coast last week is now working diligently to clean up the barrier islands in NJ. The equipment they brought up to the hurricane-ravaged area is being put to good use cleaning up debris, powering generators, and repairing bridges and piers.

This video shows one team hauling a damaged car from a pile of rubble. Recovered vehicles like this one are being loaded on flat-bed trailers and delivered to an area where insurance companies can assess the damage.

Another group of Seabees from Virginia are also working in the area on repairing infrastructure.

It will certainly be a long road to recovery, but it wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of our military. Thank you so much to those servicemembers who have left their own homes and families to help restore the communities in the North East.
