The official mission statement of the DoD’s MyCAA program is to “provide scholarships for military spouses to enable them to pursue the training necessary to facilitate gainful employment in high demand, high growth portable career fields”.  The program, more commonly referred to as Spouse Tuition Assistance, is well intentioned by doesn’t always fulfill its goal due to the vast array of programs offered.  Programs such as massage therapy and vet tech cannot be trained for online and courses such as medical transcriptionist aren’t really high demand.  Online training is crucial due to CS moves and remote CONUS and OCONUS living but finding a quality comprehensive program for an in-demand and portable job is very difficult.[/caption]
