The airman was found at around 3:24 p.m. local time, which corresponds to late Tuesday night on the U.S. East Coast. They were pronounced deceased later that day, the base wrote. The airman’s name is being withheld for 24 hours to allow for next-of-kin notification, the wing said. The cause of death is currently under investigation. Wednesday’s death marks the third death in as many days for the Air Force. On Monday, two airmen were [killed in a shooting]() at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. Though the base has not identified the victims, the family of one of them described the crime as “[a senseless act of domestic violence]().” The Grand Forks shooting is also still under investigation. Meanwhile, in Guam, the 36th wing public affairs office said that the base chaplains, mental health professionals and counselors are available and ready to assist people in need. The 36th Wing is the host unit at Andersen Air Force Base, according to the unit [website](). The 36th Wing is composed of five groups and 17 squadrons and represents the Indo-Pacific Command’s continuous bomber presence in the region, [Stars & Stripes]() reported in February. Andersen is home to more than 7,900 military and civilian personnel and is the most forward sovereign Air Force base in the region.
