Two airmen were found unresponsive in a dorm room at around 6:30 on Thursday night at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, the Air Force said in a press release.

  • Emergency responders pronounced the airmen deceased on the scene at around 6:50 p.m., the Air Force said.
  • The incident is under investigation, the Air Force said, and further details will be provided when they become available.
  • The Air Force directed all questions to the 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office.

On Friday morning, the 52nd Fighter Wing Command Team shared a Facebook post mourning the loss of the airmen.

“It is difficult to lose valued members of our team,” wrote unit leadership, which encouraged airmen in need to reach out to its mental health teams, chaplains and the Airman and Family Readiness Center for help.
