# Florida airman arrested for allegedly brandishing a shotgun at a pregnant woman

An airman assigned to an Air Force Special Operations Command wing has been arrested for allegedly pointing a shotgun at a pregnant motorist following a brief fender-bender in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Ty Reid Gilbert, 22, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill, a third-degree felony, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department records [show](<https://www3.co.okaloosa.fl.us/ArchonixXJailPublic/DetailPages/InmateDetails.aspx?ReferenceID=112941&InmateID=166438>).

According to an arrest report [obtained](<https://weartv.com/news/local/report-hulburt-afb-air-commando-arrested-for-pointing-gun-at-pregnant-woman?fbclid=IwAR3klB58HviANDXoPBoO2vvrBiEJXTe56bxo7jAgv9sbAkBkzIHqTst18Bw>) by local ABC News affiliate WEAR-TV, the victim said she followed Gilbert to his home after he rear-ended her at a Fort Walton Beach intersection.

Reid allegedly began shouting at the victim before entering his home and returning with a loaded Mossberg 500A 12-gauge shotgun, which he pointed at the victim, [according](<https://weartv.com/news/local/report-hulburt-afb-air-commando-arrested-for-pointing-gun-at-pregnant-woman?fbclid=IwAR3klB58HviANDXoPBoO2vvrBiEJXTe56bxo7jAgv9sbAkBkzIHqTst18Bw>) to WEAR-TV.

Gilbert, an Aerospace Ground Equipment specialist (AFSC 2A632), has been assigned to the 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron at Hurlburt Air Force Base for the last year and a half, a 1st SOW public affairs official confirmed.
