A man was found unresponsive in base lodging at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam on Tuesday, [wrote](<https://www.andersen.af.mil/News/Features/Article/2347532/individual-found-unresponsive-on-base/>) the 36th Wing Public Affairs office.

The man was later pronounced deceased. The cause of death is under investigation.

The man's name is being withheld for 24 hours to allow for next-of-kin notification, the wing said.

In June, Airman 1st Class [Christopher “Harrison” Fay](<https://taskandpurpose.com/news/air-force-identifies-guam-airman-death/>), of the 36th Logistics Readiness Squadron, was also found unresponsive in his quarters at Andersen Air Force Base. As of Tuesday, the results of the investigation into Fay’s death had still not been widely reported.

In Guam, the 36th Wing public affairs office said that the base chaplains, mental health professionals and counselors are available and ready to assist people in need.

The 36th Wing is the host unit at Andersen Air Force Base, according to the unit [website](<https://www.andersen.af.mil/>).

The 36th Wing is composed of five groups and 17 squadrons and represents the Indo-Pacific Command’s continuous bomber presence in the region, [Stars & Stripes](<https://www.stripes.com/news/former-thunderbird-tapped-to-lead-air-force-s-36th-wing-on-guam-1.619196>) reported in February.

Andersen is home to more than 7,900 military and civilian personnel and is the most forward sovereign Air Force base in the region. Guam is a U.S. territory.
