# Marine killed in Amphibious Combat Vehicle rollover at Camp Pendleton

One Marine was killed, and 14 others were medically evaluated after their Amphibious Combat Vehicle rolled over on Tuesday at Camp Pendleton, California, Corps officials have announced.

The name of the Marine who died is being withheld pending next of kin notification, a Marine Corps news release says.

Of the 14 other Marines in the vehicle, 11 have been treated and released, one remains hospitalized and is listed in good condition, and two others were evaluated at the scene and released back to their unit, according to I Marine Expeditionary Force.

No information was immediately available about what may have caused the rollover. The incident is under investigation.

This is the latest fatal vehicle rollover at Camp Pendleton. On May 9, 2019, Marine Lt. H. Conor McDowell was killed when his light armored vehicle drove over a hidden crevasse.

A month before McDowell’s death, Marine Raider Staff Sgt. Joshua Braica was killed after he was thrown from a dune buggy-type MRZR tactical vehicle that had rolled over.
