A Minnesota Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter with three Guardsmen aboard crashed south of St. Cloud on Thursday, said National Guard spokeswoman Army Master Sgt. Blair Heusdens.

At this time, the National Guard is not releasing any information about the status of the three people aboard the helicopter, Heusdens told Task & Purpose on Thursday.

In a statement issued earlier on Thursday, the National Guard said it lost contact with the helicopter around 2:05 p.m. local time.

The helicopter radioed a distress message about nine minutes after takeoff, Jenny Berg and Anna Haecherl of the St. Cloud Times first reported.

The National Guard statement does not include any information about a mayday call from the helicopter before contact with it was lost.

UPDATE: This story was updated on Dec. 5 after the National Guard confirmed the helicopter had crashed.
