# Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet crashes in California. Pilot’s status unknown

A Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet from Strike Fighter Squadron 151 crashed around 10 am Pacific Time near Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California, Navy officials have announced.

Search and rescue teams from China Lake and Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, are looking for the pilot, whose status is currently unknown, said Lt. Cmdr. Lydia Bock, a spokeswoman for Strike Fighter Wing, Pacific.

The single-seater plane was based at Lemoore, Bock said.
