# Colorado soldier dies in training accident at Fort Johnson, Louisiana

A soldier died in a training accident at the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, officials said in a release.

1st Lt. Zachary Galli, 23, was assigned to the 71st EOD Group located at Fort Carson, Colorado. The unit was at the JRTC for a training rotation.

Galli, an explosive ordnance disposal officer, was from Williamsburg, Virginia, officials said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to Fort Johnson officials.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of the Galli family, the 749th EOD Co., and the greater EOD community," Col. Brennan Fitzgerald, commander 71st EOD said in a press release.
