"One U.S. Soldier had a minor superficial scratch while operating their equipment," [Army Col. Myles Caggins III tweeted]() on Wednesday. "The soldier is back at work." Fox News producer Lucas Tomlinson retweeted video that appeared to show the U.S. troops being shot at. https://twitter.com/aldin_ww/status/1227581958139654144 The incident happened near Qamishli, Syria, when the patrol came across a checkpoint manned by pro-Syrian regime forces, Caggins tweeted. "After Coalition troops issued a series of warnings and de-escalation attempts, the patrol came under small arms fire from unknown individuals," Caggins tweeted. "In self-defense, Coalition troops returned fire. The situation was de-escalated and is under investigation.
