Buy a diamond for your girlfriend and expand your arsenal.
A West Texas jeweler is offering just that: Purchase an engagement ring and get a free shotgun or rifle.
Thacker Jewelry Owner Joe Thacker told KLBK in Lubbock that his shop started its tradition a few years ago.
“The idea, of course, is the word play and the old shotgun wedding,” Thacker Jewelry Owner Joe Thacker told KLBK in Lubbock. “Not going back to the negative connotation playing off of that and it’s been a lot of fun. We had a lot of people participate and this year we’ve even gotten into it more.”

The store partnered with LSG Tactical, and those who take part in the sale will get a certificate for a shotgun or rifle.
LSG Tactical Manager Steve Burns told the station the sale is a perfect fit for Texans.
“Most guys grew up hunting or at least exposed to hunting if not by their family, but by their friends, or social groups,” he said. “So it’s something that’s pretty natural for all of us.”
The sale lasts from Oct. 27-29.
The store posted on its Facebook page, “Hunting season is coming up. Whether you’re stalking a bird or a bride, stay tuned, Thacker has you covered.”
