Two US troops killed in Afghanistan in apparent insider attack

Two paratroopers with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division were killed in Afghanistan on Monday in an apparent insider attack, Task & Purpose has learned.
No further information about the circumstances of their deaths was immediately available.
Col. Art Sellers posted a message on the 3rd BCT, 82nd Airborne Division's Facebook page on Monday confirming that two of the unit's paratroopers had been killed in combat operations.
“As we move forward together, I ask for your thoughts and prayers for the families affected and for the paratroopers of their unit who are still deployed,” Sellers wrote.
The two soldiers' names are being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
A total of 14 service members and at least two defense contractors have been killed in Afghanistan so far in 2019.
