The Gunman In The Paris Terror Attack Had Terrible Military Tactics

A Parisian satirical publication was the target of what was allegedly an Islamist-motivated attack on Wednesday. Wielding heavy weapons, the masked gunmen stormed the offices of Charlie Hebdo and killed several of the cartoonists and workers there, including the publication’s head editor, Stéphane Charbonnier.

Due to the nature of the attack — the gunman killed 10 people, including two cops, and escaped via getaway car — many outlets are calling them trained jihadi fighters. But T.M. Gibbons-Neff, himself a former Marine infantryman, details everything the attackers do wrong tactically in this piece for the Washington Post.
