University Of Phoenix Under Investigation By The Feds

The University of Phoenix, a popular college among veterans, is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission for possible deceptive and unfair business practices — something it has taken flack for in the past — in its recruitment of veterans.

Since the G.I. Bill expanded its aid to veterans in 2009, the college’s online program has received more than $448 million in tuition and fees for veterans. That figure is larger than nearly every other institution identified as a recipient of G.I. Bill funds.

Stars and Stripes reported that the FTC requested information on a variety of matters, including “marketing, recruiting, enrollment, financial aid, tuition, academic programs, billing and debt collection, as well other facets of the business.”
