In September 2011, Meyer became the first living Marine to receive the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War. When his team was ambushed by more than 50 Taliban fighters, Meyer braved intense enemy fire to save 36 U.S. and Afghan troops.
We don’t get much Mail up here at COP Freedom, which is what I call my CHU here at Bagram, because we don’t get much Islamofascism here, either. So it wasn’t till after the DFAC ceremony for my meritorious promotion to 2cond Lieutenant, The Seal Team’s (honorary), that I was shocked to learn from the TV that football players are refusing to stand for the National Anthem on Sunday, GOD’S day, before they do their jobs for this country. (The promotion had to be Honorary, because I am MARSOC all the way through, and also because The Seal Team’s don’t need me making them look bad any more.)
Following the Las Vegas shootings on Oct. 1, the deadliest in United States history, Marine Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer took to social media to blast Dan Bilzerian, a social media personality, former poker player and Navy SEAL training washout who uploaded a video to Snapchat showing himself fleeing the scene.
When planners for the Democratic National Convention called Florent Groberg to ask him if he’d like to speak at the event, and possibly endorse Hillary Clinton on national television, he wondered if they knew anything about him.
