Pvt. Bowe Berghdal has been granted a review of his case to determine if tweets and comments made by President Donald Trump irrevocably tainted his original trial and therefore constitute grounds for his sentence to be dismissed.
WASHINGTON – An Army private missing from her Colorado duty station for years was arrested aboard a cruise ship in New Orleans last week and will be transported to Fort Carson to face desertion charges, according to law enforcement and Army officials.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the Army soldier who walked off his outpost in Afghanistan and into Taliban captivity for five years before his rescue and controversial return to the United States, is expected to avoid a military trial by pleading guilty to "desertion and misbehavior before the enemy," military sources told the Associated Press Oct. 6.
