On a party line vote, the Senate Thursday overturned privacy rules that barred companies that provide internet service from gathering and profiting from consumers’ personal information without their consent.
With a degree in engineering, your options are virtually limitless. According to a Forbes report, the industry is ever-expanding, and the current workforce is aging, so there won’t be a shortage of jobs in the near future. There is certainly some staunch competition within the industry, but your military background gives you a unique edge in your job search. Forbes counts jobs in sales as some of the most populous professions in the country, citing a 2013 Bureau of Labor Statistics study showing that securities, commodities, and financial services sales agents earn the most, with average salaries of $102,510 annually. The sales field is expected to steadily increase in the coming years, with growth rates that could reach 11% by the year 2022.
On May 5, the Joining Forces initiative — a nationwide effort calling on all Americans to rally around service members, veterans, and their families — announced that 40 companies have pledged to hire more than 110,000 veterans and military spouses in the next five years.
