Time For A ‘National Political Warfare Center’ To Run US Actions Overseas?

Ryan Crocker and some other smart, experienced guys propose just that, to better coordinate low-level U.S. wars. In their short Rand report, they call for this new center to include and coordinate elements of DoD, State, intelligence and more.

I think this would make official the arrangement that Crocker and General David Petraeus developed in Iraq during 2007-08, with notable operational success. In other words, it is a good idea. But I doubt Congress will get off its ass and take the necessary steps.
