Early Thursday morning, the House Armed Services Committee voted to keep the A-10 “Warthog” for another year. An amendment to the 2016 defense policy bill, proposed by Rep. Martha McSally of Arizona, would prohibit the Air Force from taking any moves to retire the plane — something it has been trying to do for several years now.
