Task & Purpose, a rapidly growing news and culture site geared toward the modern military and veterans community, is looking to add to our dynamic team with a fall editorial internship.
As an intern with a rapidly growing military news startup, your responsibilities will include researching and writing stories, transcribing interviews, and working with the staff writers and other members of Task & Purpose team to generate great story ideas.
Our founders, writers, and contributors all got started in the modern military, deploying to or deeply affected by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our voice reflects that hard-earned unique perspective. We’re looking for interns who share that perspective, or are willing to embrace it.
If you’re engaged, driven, dynamic, and want to join a team devoted to journalism for a new generation of American veterans and service members, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Interns are expected to be available 15-20 hours per week and students are welcome to apply. Military experience helps, but isn’t as necessary as a critical mind and a passion for journalism.
The internship is intended for Fall 2017, but we are also accepting applications for an earlier start date.
Interns will receive a stipend and receive opportunities to attend events in the greater New York City area.
If you’re interested, please send a resume, cover letter, and sample piece of writing to editor@taskandpurpose.com with the subject line: Fall Internship 2017 — [Last name].
The deadline for all applications is August 20, 2017.
