Some brands know how to take care of the military community and T-Mobile is consistently one of them, from offering great military discounts to supporting service members, military spouses, and their families during the transition from being a service member to civilian life.
It can be very disorienting to go from a lifestyle — often straight out of high school — where someone else tells you where to live, where to work, where to get your healthcare from, and how much money you’ll make, to all of a sudden being on your own trying to figure out a career, housing, finance, health insurance, and who your community is. So when companies make it a point to not just help service members during that vulnerable time, but to see the potential that a career of military service has to offer the marketplace, it means a lot.
And it isn’t just service members who must tackle the military lifestyle — it is their spouses and families, too. “Military spouses are highly skilled and educated yet often overlooked due to persistent biases surrounding our lifestyle,” shared Kristin Allen, a military spouse. “T-Mobile’s dedication to breaking this cycle through intentional opportunities, resources, and community support empowers us to thrive professionally. It’s a company that has earned deep respect within the military spouse community; a place we’re proud to be part of and eager to grow with.”
Here are a few great ways T-Mobile is helping Veterans, Military Families, and Spouses hit the ground running.
1. Paid time off during Permanent Change of Station (PCS)
T-Mobile supports Active Duty and Military Spouse employees when they get orders to PCS by offering 40 hours of paid time off specifically for Permanent Change of Station moves, giving members of the military community the flexibility and financial support needed to manage relocation without added stress.
Brooke Teague, a Military Spouse and Offer Resolution Representative for T-Mobile, experienced this firsthand. “In March 2025, my family had to PCS from Mountain Home AFB to Eglin AFB. The benefits provided by T-Mobile were incredibly helpful during this transition. I was able to relocate across the country without the worry of losing pay or attendance,” she shared, emphasizing her gratitude for the benefit.
2. Portable Work Locations
T-Mobile offers flexible work options that are tailored to the unique needs of the individual, which helps ensure continuity in their careers regardless of location changes due to military service obligations. This can also be offered to the domestic partner or spouse of an active duty service member.
“I’m incredibly grateful that T-Mobile’s commitment to portable work locations has given military spouses like me the chance to build meaningful, lasting careers,” shared Allen. “Instead of constantly restarting with every PCS, we can now grow, advance our skills, and take full advantage of learning and development opportunities.”
3. Military leave
Effective from day one, T-Mobile’s Military Compensation Plan offers up to 20 paid work days annually for military duties like drill weekends for reservists. Employees can use them as full days, partial days, or up to four continuous weeks per year.
4. Childcare and family building
T-Mobile offers up to $250 each month to help with childcare expenses, not to mention benefits that support fertility, adoption, and surrogacy before your new addition arrives, and paid parental leave and bonding leave after. Ask anyone with kids — childcare and supportive benefits like this are not easy to come by.
5. 401K & stock grants
T-Mobile offers a 401K plan (with matching after 1 year), yearly employee stock grants, and the opportunity to purchase additional T-Mobile stock at a discounted rate. These kinds of investments over time can make the decision to switch from a military career to a civilian one a no-brainer without fretting about missing out on the military retirement plans.
6. Mentorship and employment support
T-Mobile is committed to reducing veteran and military spouse unemployment by offering intentional hiring, career advancement opportunities, and a strong internal support network with our employee resource group and internal mentorship programs — ensuring military employees are empowered, not overlooked or underemployed.
“I truly appreciate the partnerships T-Mobile has with veteran organizations because it provides hope and guidance to so many veterans,” shared Morgan Olson, a Military Spouse. “They may not end up employed at T-Mobile but their life will hopefully be better because of the interaction. The amount of guidance and information the veterans get is immeasurable when it comes to their journey to the civilian world.”
7. Nationally recognized Gold-Level Military Friendly Employer®
T-Mobile actively partners with veteran organizations, military support networks, and military spouse employment programs to expand access to resources, career development, and community support. A few of these organizations include Hiring our Heroes, Blue Star Families, Fourblock, MSEP, and The Honor Foundation.
“As I prepared to retire from the Marine Corps, T-Mobile was mentioned repeatedly by Veterans Organizations as a great place to work,” shared Thomas Eybl, a Marine Corps Veteran. “I went through the Hiring our Heroes internship program and the Fourblock career preparation course, and both benefited tremendously from T-Mobile’s participation. Seeing it live and in action demonstrated to me what a great organization this was and made me want to be a part of ‘Team Magenta.’”
From active duty to reservist to military spouses, T-Mobile makes it a point to “proudly serve those who served” — those are their words, and they back them up with meaningful action. To date, they have hired more than 10,000 veterans and spouses. T-Mobile is an original signatory of the 4+1 Commitment through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a first-of-its-kind, nationwide effort to tackle the 21% unemployment rate among military spouses. T-Mobile is dedicated to creating impactful opportunities for members of the military community and ensuring military employees are empowered and not overlooked.
