Cold Steel has an undeniable reputation. Best known, perhaps, for popularizing the American tanto design in the 1980s, the knifemaker is recognized worldwide for both its unique knife designs — like, say, the push knives of Platoon fame — and its flamboyant, near-batshit marketing techniques.

No knife embodies the Cold Steel ethos as much as the Cold Steel Spartan folding knife with its wicked 4.5-inch blade. Made from Japanese AUS10A steel, the 9.2-oz Spartan was designed by celebrated custom knife maker Andrew Demko and is easily recognizable by its distinctive Kopis-style handle. More importantly, it was also the subject of one of my favorite Cold Steel marketing videos of all time:

You may be a lover of unique folders; you may be a devotee to the latest tacticool gear to hit the market. Either way, the Cold Steel Spartan folding knife is a worthy addition to your arsenal. Even better: the normally-$130 Cold Steel Spartan is now available on Amazon for just $43.10 for a savings of more than 67 percent. If that isn’t a sweet deal, I don’t know what is.

Now, the Cold Steel Spartan is certainly a distinctive blade, but it may be a bit too ostentatious (read: intimidating) for your everyday carry. Luckily, the Spartan isn’t the only unique bade on sale on Amazon this week: you can also score a CRKT Apoc EDC folding knife for a tidy discount online for a limited time.

OK, so the Apoc isn’t necessarily more discrete than the Spartan. Billed as “a knife designed for doomsday,” the rugged and rough-looking 8Cr13MoV-blade steel Apoc is “the result of one designer’s imaginary toolbox fashioned hastily into a knife,” according to CRKT. “The result: a gritty folder built to take on the undead…or maybe just the tape on the next package that’s delivered.” Sure, you won’t be facing off against zombies anytime soon, but the Apoc certainly comes with the intimidation factor worthy of post-apocalyptic use.

While the CRKT Apoc normally MSRPs for $89.99, you can currently pick one up on Amazon for just $56.09 for savings of a whopping 38 percent.
