Yes, the Tom Ricks defense column, once hosted by Foreign Policy and known as “The Best Defense,” has moved here to Task & Purpose. It is now called “The Long March with Tom Ricks,” as you can plainly see.
It will continue largely as you have known it. I’ll write items as observations about national security as they strike me. I’ll also have guest columns, with an eye particularly to running contributions by people with personal experience of the subject they are writing about. And, thankfully, the Council of the Former Enlisted has packed its trash and moved with me.
But I am open to new ideas. Is there anything you’d like to see more of? Or less of? (Okay, Okay, I promise no more rude columns about Ben Rhodes.)
