Gen. Robert Neller, the commandant of the Marine Corps, signed a message Nov. 9 instructing the Marine Corps’ Training and Education Command to review several aspects of the service’s fitness program.
“After listening and talking with Marines at all levels across the Corps, I’m convinced that we need a comprehensive and holistic review of our physical fitness evaluations and body composition standards,” Neller said.
The review will reconsider the scoring on physical and combat fitness tests along with body composition rules concerning height, weight, and body fat standards for members of the Marine Corps.
