The Navy really wants you to see this boring picture of a sailor firing an M240 machine gun.

In an email sent to reporters on Friday, the Navy’s Office of Community Outreach apparently had nothing more interesting to share from the service with operations going on around the globe than “New York Sailor fires M240 machine gun during exercise.”

That was the subject line. Are you f**king excited yet? Because I sure am.

As the public affairs specialist explained, “we at the Navy Office of Community Outreach travel the globe to collect Sailors photos and distribute them to their hometown media. These photos are great for running as news items of simply creating a social media post that increases engagement with your communities.”

So, here it is, in all its glory:

Sailors Aboard USS Milius (DDG 69) Participate in a Live-Fire Gunnery Exercise

Destroyer Squadron 15

According to the caption, this is Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Hao Liang from New York, who was firing the M240 from the deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Milius. I’m sure he’s a really nice guy.

Congrats, Navy. You got what you wanted.
