Here’s What Happens When You Launch A Rocket Under A Frozen Lake

Here at Task & Purpose, with our deep ties to the military community, we like it when things go “boom.” That’s why, though there’s no direct military tie, we couldn’t help but share this video of some brave soul in Sweden setting a bottle rocket off in a hole of a frozen lake.

Maybe when we finally wrap up Iraq and Afghanistan, the military can pivot to more cold weather training, including things like this. There’s definitely a huge military advancement angle here somewhere, right?

Check out the video below, maybe I’ll give it a shot if the Central Park reservoir freezes over enough this winter.

If that doesn’t do it for you, enjoy this complimentary YouTube video of a group of Afghan security forces trying to catch fish by firing a rocket-propelled grenade into a lake, complete with ridiculous country music. Spoiler: it works.
