Two U.S. Army soldiers were arrested on Tuesday following an incident in which one soldier reportedly kicked a South Korean police officer in the genitals, Stars and Stripes reports.
- The two soldiers, women aged 19 and 20, were arrested after “allegedly assaulting a South Korean man in a scuffle over a motorcycle” in the northern city of Dongducheon, according to Stripes.
- The scuffle broke out after a 58-year-old member of the local neighborhood watch tried to grab one of the soldiers “after his motorcycle fell over when one of them who had been sitting on it stood up shortly after midnight,” per Stripes.
- One soldier is reportedly assigned to the Dongducheon-based 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, per Military Times. The other is stationed to Camp Humphreys.
- It’s unclear which soldier is responsible for the testicular strike, or if alcohol was involved in the incident. An Eighth Army spokeswoman told Stripes that an investigation is underway “to determine the facts.”
