Israeli tank flips over in possible first-ever IDF WTF Moment

The tank's driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.

If the Israel Defense Forces does not have its own version of U.S. Army WTF! Moments, it will after today.

Video circulating on Twitter shows an Israeli Merkava tank flip upside down on Sunday while attempting to drive onto a trailer.

The Israeli soldier driving the tank reportedly suffered minor injuries and is expected to be released from a Jerusalem hospital later on Sunday, according to Israel National News.

Two videos taken from different angles show the tank driving off the trailer and capsizing. The vehicle appears to spew a cloud of exhaust whilst upside down.

Task & Purpose’s numerous attempts to reach an IDF spokesperson for comment were unsuccessful.

Tank mishaps are not limited to a particular country or region. In March, an American M1 Abrams tank with the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, burst into flames at Fort Hood, Texas. Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.

Then in July, an M1A2 Abrams assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team accidentally fired at another Abrams tank at Fort Bliss, Texas. One soldier was injured.

Just because being a tanker is dangerous work does not mean it can’t be civilized. On July 4, the British army released a video of how British tank crews brew the perfect cup of tea.

“Happy Independence Day, and God Save the Queen,” said the British soldier in the video – tastefully glossing over the fact that the Americans won the Revolutionary War.
